For a decade, Gayle has directed the Oxford Impact Investing Programme and the Oxford Social Finance Programme—reaching more than 700 students from 70 countries with a message that money can have impact, and equally important, be shaped by a strong moral compass.

Impact as Change Agent
Gayle cut her political teeth in Chicago politics working with some of the first women elected officials and leading a campaign to change the Illinois Constitution to end exploitation of inner-city housing. She ran award winning environmental and arts organizations, and was the inaugural program director for a bi-national Great Lakes Protection Fund. She built a successful international consultancy known for its impact, creativity, humor and candor. Gayle has significant experience in addressing poverty, gender inequality, conservation finance, climate change, food, health and housing systems.

Gayle is Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, Oxford University, where she co-founded Women Transforming Leadership Programme Gayle has more than 25 years of experience as strategist, philanthropist, and trusted advisor to social investors worldwide.

    Two decades of building businesses within some of the largest companies in the world. He created wealth management and financial advisory services for American Express Financial Advisors (and IDS) and RSM McGladrey estimated at $

    He also knows the value of local banks and businesses. He built a network of 120 community banks and credit unions to support innovative financial services to meet rural and urban needs.

    He is a genius at organizational management and has supported nonprofits looking to scale.

    Jim has an MBA in Finance and an MA in Urban Policy from the University of Chicago, Jim has held many titles—Vice President, Senior Vice President, Managing Director—and walks comfortably on Wall Street and Mainstreet; in urban and rural communities.

    He is happiest in his fishing kayak searching for the big one that got away or in the kitchen trying new recipes for the family.

  • K. Sujata

    Senior Fellow

    K. Sujata has been advocating for women and girls since she was a schoolgirl in Solapur, a small town in India where she tutored young girls. An engineer by training, recently she spent more than eight years leading Chicago Foundation for Women and its work addressing poverty, trafficking, and gender-based violence in disinvested communities. Now, Sujata is using her engineer’s mind to discover the ways social finance can support ESG in emerging countries. Her evaluation expertise is measuring systems change. Sujata holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Stuart School at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She has more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy, program development and organizational management.

    Robert is an Assistant Professor in the Healthcare Management and Organizational Leadership department at Quinnipiac University. Robert has a BS in Chemistry and MPhil in Biochemistry, University of Ghana; Post Graduate Certificate in Food Management, Hebrew University of Jerusalem; MS in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy, Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota; and PhD in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development, University of Minnesota.

  • Mick Blowfield

    Mick has been involved in labour rights since the 1980s when he conducted one of the first studies of working conditions in Indonesia’s apparel export industry. His doctoral thesis at Sussex University focused on labour and human rights in international trade, and he has done extensive research and consultancy work on forced labour in cocoa. His recent work includes impact assessments of working conditions for the International Labour Organization and the consequences of climate change on labour and migration

    Sombo is a trained accountant and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She holds an MBA from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh Business School. Currently she is studying for her Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration in the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University. Sombo has more than 15 years of experience as development practitioner and accountant.
